Apple Valley News Now - The Walla Walla Fire Department said it is investigating four suspicious fires that started in the last 24 hours. Officials said the first fire started Sunday, August 4 just after 10:30 p.m. in the area of Pine Street and Cayuse Street along the eastbound lanes of HWY12. Fire officials said fire crews from Walla Walla Fire Station 1 and Station 2 responded to the fire and crews from Walla Walla County Fire District 4 responded as part of a mutual-aid agreement. According to fire officials, the fire appeared to have started in multiple places and was about a quarter-mile south of HWY12. Fire crews were able to control the fire around 11 p.m. and continued to mop up hotspots for a hour after.
