KOMO NEWS, TACOMA, WA - A man is under arrest after breaking into a home in Tacoma overnight while the family was sleeping and setting the bathroom on fire, police say. The incident unfolded at around 10:15 p.m. Wednesday when officers responded to a home in the 1300 block of East 58th Street. Officers responded to the home after receiving reports of a disturbance and fire. They then learned that a suspect had broken into the home through the back door while the family was asleep, then locked himself inside a bathroom and started it on fire, police say. Officers were able to talk the 30-year-old suspect into surrendering. He was then arrested and booked into the Pierce County Jail for investigation of first-degree burglary and first-degree arson.
