KIRO-TV CBS 7 SEATTLE Officials responded to a railroad trestle fire in Grays Harbor Saturday morning, according to the Grays Harbor Sheriff's Office. At about 3 p.m. on June 3, deputies went to a fire on railroad tracks near State Route 12 at milepost 26 in Malone, about halfway between Olympia and Aberdeen. When deputies arrived, they found a train trestle that runs parallel to State Route 12 was on fire with heavy smoke covering the road. According to Grays Harbor deputies, the fire was about five feet by five feet in size. Firefighters with East Grays Harbor Fire District soon arrived and extinguished the blaze. Investigators believe the fire is suspicious and are thinking it may be arson. The trestle was damaged and will need to be repaired before train traffic will be able to use the tracks.
