A Spokane man, who set fire to St. Charles Parrish and School in 2021, will serve five years in federal prison for arson. The U.S. Attorney's Office for the Eastern District of Washington said the man was also ordered to pay restitution in the amount of $4,981,859.07 for damages from the fire and will serve three years of supervised release following his release from prison. read more
Investigators with the Snoqualmie Police Department and the King County Sheriff's Office are asking the public for help to identify a suspect or suspects wanted in an arson incident at the North Bend Taco Time. At about 4:50 a.m. on Dec. 31, an unknown suspect or suspects broke the drive-thru window of the Taco Time at 726 Southwest Mount Si Boulevard in North Bend. The suspect or suspects threw a firework inside the building, causing fire damage in the kitchen area and smoke damage throughout the building. An award of up to $10,000 has been made available through the Arson Award Fund for information that leads to an arrest and conviction in this case. read more
VIDEO: Authorities are investigating the cause of an arson fire that gutted an art studio in downtown Wenatchee on Saturday. Michelle Li Murphy, owns Barbarianheart.Love on Mission Street in the alley behind Its Your Tan. Michelle's business specializes in handmade fashion accessories that includes hand-dyed silk. Michelle says security footage captured the person who is believed to be the suspect, but their physical features aren't clear in the video. Michelle says the blaze happened at around 4 a.m. on Sunday. It was determined that the suspect had lit a piece of cardboard on fire to ignite the studio's garage door. Michelle says all contents inside were lost to the fire. "This has basically destroyed my fashion and hand dyed silk accessory business that I've been building up over the last year (after 20 years in NYC)," Michelle wrote. read more
Fire officials suspect someone intentionally set fire to a pile of railroad ties Monday evening just north of downtown Wenatchee. Wenatchee firefighters responded to the fire about 6:40 p.m. after several people reported seeing the flames. The fire was near the Riverside Playhouse in the 200 block of North Wenatchee Avenue. read more

Longview police arrested a 22-year-old Kelso resident, Thursday for allegedly attempting to burn down a house with a lit torch while people were still inside, according to court documents. At roughly 5:35 p.m., Thursday police responded to a home on the 200 block of 20th Avenue in the Highlands neighborhood of Longview over an emergency call regarding an unwanted visitor. read more
