The Town of Friday Harbor on San Juan Island said Thursday that a fire that burned through a block of businesses last week was intentionally set. Lacey police are asking the public to help identify a person believed to have started several fires in the city on Sunday, including one at Komachin Middle School. Early Sunday, Lacey Fire District 3 crews were dispatched to the school in the 3600 block of College Street Southeast. The school is being remodeled and Battalion Chief Ryan Fox said the fire was contained to an area of new construction. Still, Lacey Sgt. Shannon Barnes said it did "several thousand dollars" in damage. read more
