KOMO NEWS, SEATTLE, WA - Seattle police are trying to figure out if a 32-year-old man arrested Tuesday night in connection with a series of suspected arsons in the city's Montlake neighborhood might be connected to any other fires in the city. Detectives will be handling the follow-up investigation, a police spokesman told KOMO News on Wednesday. Police believe the suspect started 6 fires over the span of an hour Tuesday night. The suspect was booked into the King County Jail early Wednesday morning on suspicion of reckless burning, according to jail records. Recycling bins, garbage cans, and cardboard were burned in the fires. The fires were all put out quickly. "The dog barked, and that is what alerted me," said Amy Masterson, who lives in the area. "Like – serious barking. and so I looked out the window, and there were huge flames right here in our parking strip." The string of fires happened just hours after another suspected arson at a construction site in south Seattle.
