SPD BLOTTER, SEATTLE - SPD Arson/Bomb Unit detectives and South Precinct Anti-Crime Team officers arrested a 34-year-old Pierce County man on June 18th for setting a fire outside the East Precinct. Police booked the man into the King County Jail for reckless burning and arson. Detectives are attempting to identify a man suspected of setting a fire outside of the East Precinct early Friday morning. On Friday, June 12th, just before 3:00 AM, a man wearing a bright green or yellow sweatshirt, black pants and white tennis shoes and carrying a red container was observed walking up to the east side of the building. It appeared that the suspect poured liquid from the can along the exterior wall of the building and then walked away to the south. A few minutes later the same individual returned, lit something in his hand and dropped it, igniting the wall and the sidewalk. The suspect walked away and people nearby rushed to put out the flames before it spread to the rest of the building or the nearby tents.
