KOMO-TV ABC 4 SEATTLE An intentionally set 2-alarm fire in an apartment building in Seattle's Westlake neighborhood left all of its residents temporarily displaced and caused an estimated $100,000 in damages Saturday morning. Seattle Fire Department's (SFD) Fire Alarm Center received 911 calls with reports of a fire in a four-story apartment building in the 2000 block of Dexter Ave. N. in the Westlake neighborhood at 2:37 a.m. Flames could be seen through windows near a stairwell inside the building near the main lobby and spreading to other floors when the first fire units arrived on scene. Fire officials said the response was upgraded to a 2-alarm fire because the blaze involved a primary escape route for residents and the hallways of all floors were filled with smoke. According to SFD, firefighters had water on the fire and searched the entire building by 2:52 a.m.   Read more
